Five Wonderful Years!

I can't believe that Mike and I have been married five years. Wow the time does fly! In light of our anniversary, I've put together a little list of facts and whatnot of our life together.

How We Met
Mike and I grew up together. We've known each other probably since the first or second grade. His twin brother Matt was my boyfriend in the first grade. In Junior high, we had a little group of friends that hung out together. Mike was part of that group. He was never my boyfriend, but he jumped around from one friend of mine to the other. He really liked the girls. Anyway, in high school we kindof went our separate ways. He was a cowboy and I was a cheerleader, so we ran with differnt crowds. But, we always stayed friends. Every year, he would take me to the Chris LeDoux concert in Salina. Plus, whenever we wanted to make a boyfriend or girlfriend jealous, we would call eachother up and go out. Every year at the county fair, before he would get on his bull for the night, I'd kiss him on the cheek for good luck. Well the summer after graduation at the county fair, I gave him his kiss. He rode and won the rodeo. So he was excited and asked me to go on rides with him since it was because of my kiss that he won. Well after that night, we started to hang out a lot and eventually ended up dating.

How He Proposed
It was the fourth of July 2002. Mike was riding in the Salina rodeo. That night at the rodeo, they called my name over the loud speaker and said I had won a "pig" in the raffle. So I got all excited because I never win anything and ran down to the arena. I should have known something was up when they had me walk out to the middle of the arena and wouldn't let me look behind me, plus my entire family was there and they never go to rodeos. Anyway, so the rodeo clown stood by my and wouldn't let me look back and Mike walked up behind me holding flowers and a ring. He gave a little speach, got down on one knee and proposed in front of hundreds of people. Of course I said "yes".

Our Wedding Day
We were married on Feb. 1, 2003, after being engaged for 7 months. Thank you mom. We were married in the Manti temple, and had our reception that night at the Mayfield church.

Our Honeymoon
We waited a month before going on our honeymoon. We went to California, and went to Disneyland, Knotts Berry farm, the wax museum, medieval times, and the Sandiego temple.

Places we have lived: Manti, Bryce Canyon, Gunnison, Centerfield, Eagle Mountain, Payson, and American Fork.

Things we love to do together: Go to movies, western swing dancing, watch our favorite shows- One Tree Hill, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Two and Half Men, spend time with our families, play with Tenley, go camping, fishing, and bow hunting.

Foods we can share: steak, hotdogs with mashed potatos and cheese on top, ice cream (no chocolate), chinese food, and tacos.

Restraunts we both love: Chiles, Sizzler, Texas Roadhouse, and Tepenyakis.

Things we have accomplised in the last five years: I graduated with a degree in Elementary Ed and taught for two years. Mike graduated with a degree in X-ray technology and started his own successful finish carpentry business. We have a beautiful home, and a beautiful daughter.

Things we hope to accomplish in the next five years: Have another baby-a boy, move home to Gunnison, Mike's storage unit business up and running successfully, maybe start my own dance studio or scrapbook store?

The top five things I love about my husband

1. He is a thoughtful and loving husband and a wonderful dad.
2. He works hard to provide for our family, so I can stay home and raise our children.
3. He is outgoing and fun.
4. He pushes me to come out of my shell and not be shy around people. He brings out the best in me.
5. He loves me!
